Inter Miami have been knocked out of the Leagues Cup 2024 tournament after they suffered a defeat to Columbus Crew in a round of 16 contest on August 14. The defending champions, playing without Lionel Messi, were in an advantageous position at one point in time as they had a 2-0 lead at the end of 62 minutes, courtesy of strikes from Matias Rojas and Diego Gomez. But Columbus Crew produced a sensational performance in front of their home crowd as they mounted a comeback to remember. Christian Ramirez scored the first goal for the hosts in the 67th minute and it was followed by a brace from Diego Rossi, which helped Columbus Crew complete the comeback.
