After changes in the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup formats, Bayern Munich's Honorary President Ulrich Hoeneb expressed concerns over players’ injuries. He mentioned that the sport is getting worse.

With an aim to increase the popularity and reach of the sport FIFA and UEFA made some changes in their major competitions. The new UEFA Champions format is set to debut the upcoming season with a number of participant teams increased from 32 to 36, while FIFA has revolutionized the current Club World Cup format, moving from a yearly mini-competition involving to a full-blown 32-team summer tournament. What some officials at UEFA and FIFA are planning is madness.
