Arab Club Champions 2023 winners Al-Nassr couldn't open their account in the points table of the Saudi Pro League 2023-24 as they suffered a crushing 2-0 defeat to Al-Taawoun in their second match of the campaign. Cristiano Ronaldo was rested in the first match but he played this game and despite creating pressure alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Anderson Talisca failed to register a goal. Sadio Mane was potent with his attacks too, but nothing could break the deadlock and using that as a base Al-Taawoun scored in both halves, clinching an inspiring victory.
