After going through a lot on and off the field, 25-year-old Alex Fletcher had to announce his retirement from football. The star striker was at the peak of his career and suffered a horrific accident while playing for Bath City in a National League South clash against Dulwich Hamlet. Fletcher had to undergo emergency surgery before having to relearn to walk. The incident put him in a coma for nearly a year. He did make a comeback on the field but announced retirement from football at the end of the season. His side Weston-super-Mare confirmed the news as he shared a post of retirement on Instagram.
