While preparing for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, many teams released their new jersey designs for the mega event. Uganda also followed the pattern and released its jersey on March 20. The design from Elijah Mangeni drew inspiration from the country's national bird - the grey-crowned crane. The design received a lot of praise. But ahead of the World Cup, the ICC asked Uganda to make changes after addressing a few issues with the design. The coloured sleeves – showcasing feathers reduced the visibility of the sponsor logos. Uganda’s Changed Jersey for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
Elijah Mangeni created the historic T20 WC jersey of Uganda based on their national bird "grey crowned crane". Uganda cricket team is also called "Cricket Cranes".

Reason for Change in Jersey
Uganda had staged a jersey design competition and this jersey (Image 1) was selected as the winner. The winning design from Elijah Mangeni drew inspiration from the country's national bird, the grey-crowned crane, after which the team is named.
