Rohit, who has featured in the 2015, 2019 and this edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup so far, also has the fastest hundred in the tournament by an Indian. VVS Laxman took to social media to share an old post by Rohit Sharma where he had expressed disappointment at missing out on a place in India's 2011 Cricket World Cup squad. On October 12, the Indian captain registered the record of scoring most centuries in ICC Cricket World Cup history (7), breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record. Laxman shared a screengrab of the tweet that Rohit had posted in 2011 and wrote, "From this in 2011, to becoming the highest ever century maker in World Cup History , scoring 7 hundreds in just 2 World Cups plus 2 matches, just proves again that “Never ever give up” and that Champions find a way to live their dream." Rohit Sharma Breaks Sachin Tendulkar's Record of Most Centuries in ICC Cricket World Cup History, Indian Captain Achieves Feat During IND vs AFG CWC 2023 Match.
