According to a report, the TV and digital rights were available in two packages and the cycle will begin from September this year. With this, BCCI's media rights previously were with Disney Star.
Viacom18 has bagged both the TV and digital rights for the Indian cricket team's home matches for the next five years. The BCCI media rights auction took place today and the Reliance-owned outfit Viacom18 emerged as the highest bidder with a whopping amount of Rs 5,963 crore. With this development, Sports18 will now provide live telecast of the home matches for Team India while JioCinema 18 is the place for live streaming of these games.
