Since the first match of the series got tied, they won the series 2-0. Sri Lanka batted first in the game and riding on the 95-run innings from Avisha Fernando, they posted a total of 248/7. Chasing it, like it happened throughout the series, India suffered a batting collapse and despite Washington Sundar's lower order resistance, wrapped up for 138 runs.
