Some exceptional batting on display from South Africa as they put up a score of 428/5 on board against Sri Lanka in their opening clash against Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Batting first in the game, Quinton de Kock, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram scored centuries surrounded by handy cameos from Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller to create the record of the highest ever score in an ICC Cricket World Cup in it's 48-year-history. They went past the 417 scored by Australia against Afghanistan in 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
