India Women start the series against South Africa Women with a bang as they defeat the Proteas Women by 143 runs in the 1st ODI. Opting to bat first in a slightly sluggish wicket, India lost their first five wickets for only 95 runs but Smriti Mandhana stood tall at one end. Mandhana scored a stunning century and with Deepti Sharma's support, India Women reached 265/8. Chasing it, South Africa Women were never off to a good start and they kept losing wickets at regular interval, collapsing for just 122 on the board. Asha Sobhana, playing her debut ODI match picked a four-wicket haul. With the win India Women took 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
