Shafali Verma Scores Third-Highest Aggregate Runs on Test Debut in Women’s Cricket, Also Joins Sachin Tendulkar in This Unique Record

Verma, touted as one of the future star in Indian women's cricket, broke a few records in her debut Test against England Women at the Bristol County Ground. She had scored 96 in the first innings and followed it up with 63 in the second. The Indians were bowled out for 231 in the first innings, in pursuit of England's 396/9.

Young batting star Shafali Verma on Saturday became the third-highest run-scorer on Test debut when he scored 96 and 63 respectively in the one-off Test against England women at the Bristol County Ground on Saturday, June 19. She also became the second Test player in history to score two fifties in a same match at age 17, joining the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved this feat against England back in 1990.
