Rain delayed the start of the South Africa vs Netherlands encounter in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and curtailed the game to a 43-overs per side clash. Put in to bat first, Netherlands didn't have a good start and they struggled to get going in the middle too. But after skipper Scott Edwards (78*) arrived on the crease, he opened the floodgate of scoring by stitching partnerships with Sybrand Engelbrecht, Teja Nidamanuru, Roelof van der Merwe and Aryan Dutt who provided small contributions. Edwards and Dutt provided the final push to take Netherlands to a competitive total of 245 on the board. South African seamers were the most effective upfront with Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada sharing two wickets apiece.
