India defeated Pakistan to register an emphatic seven-wicket victory in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14. The Men in Blue opted to bowl first after Rohit Sharma won the toss and the decision seemed to backfire after Pakistan got off to a good start with Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq hitting some fine boundaries early on. India did manage to see the back of both these players and the duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam got together to register an 82-run partnership. Babar's dismissal triggered a dramatic collapse. From 155/2, Pakistan were all out for just 191 in 42.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets apiece. In response, India managed to chase down the total in just 30.3 overs with captain Rohit Sharma hitting 86. Shreyas Iyer also scored a half-century. Rohit Sharma Becomes First Indian to Hit 300 Sixes in ODIs, Achieves Feat During IND vs PAK ICC CWC 2023 Match.
