Rape Convict Nepal Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane Says He Is A ‘Victim of Conspiracy’ Amid Hearing in High Court

Sandeep Lamichhane took to social media and shared a couple of posts ahead of his hearing for the rape case in the high court. Kathmandu District Court has sentenced him to eight years in prison in a rape case after which Sandeep filed an appeal in high court. The authorities have also ordered Sandeep Lamichhane to pay a fine of Rs 3,00,000 and a compensation of Rs 2,00,000 to the victim for psychological distress. The rape convict previously posted a cryptic smiley emoji after the announcement of Nepal's squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Sandeep Lamichhane in his first post wrote, "I refrained myself from long to post. I have no doubt that I am a victim of conspiracy. Time will tell the truth unless revealed."
