The ICC Cricket World Cup in 2023 is in its 13th edition and this is the fourth time that India got the rights to serve as the host nation. Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most runs scored in the ICC Cricket World Cup competition's history with 2278 from 45 games played throughout six editions. After Tendulkar, there are five behind him: Ricky Ponting (1743), Kumar Sangakkara (1532), Brian Lara (1225), AB de Villiers (1207) and Chris Gayle (1186). The list continues with Sanath Jayasuriya (1165), Jacques Kallis (1148), Shakib Al Hasan (1146) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (1112).
