The Indian National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team ICC T20 match in New York was at its climax as Arshdeep Singh was given the responsibility if defending 18 runs in the last over. At the same time, Akmal had stated on national television “Kuch bhi ho sakta hai, 12 baj gaye hai” (Anything can happen, it’s already 12). Harbhajan Singh reposted the video. The comments were seen as derogatory towards the sigh community and many people including Harbhajan Singh called out Kamran Akmal. The former Pakistan cricketer shared a public apology for his comments saying he has immense respect for the Sikh community and he never intended to hurt anyone.
