Jaffna Kings beat Galle Marvels by nine wickets to win the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 title on Sunday, June 21. Batting first, Galle Marvels scored 184/6, riding on Bhanuka Rajapaksa's 82 and Tim Seifert's 47. For Jaffna Kings, Jason Behrendorff took two wickets while Asitha Fernando stood out with three wickets. In response, Jaffna Kings chased down the target in just 15.4 overs. Despite losing Pathum Nissanka in the first ball of the run chase, Jaffna Kings rode on a 185-run stand between Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis. Rossouw starred with 106 runs off 53 deliveries while Mendis scored 72 off 40. This was Jaffna Kings' fourth LPL title.
