The Indian women's cricket team ensured a medal on debut in the Asian Games 2023 as it marched into the final of the event with an emphatic eight-wicket win over Bangladesh in the semifinal on September 24. The Indian bowlers set up the win with Pooja Vastrakar picking up four wickets and others too chipping in as all Bangladesh could manage was just 51. With the bat, India needed 8.2 overs to chase down the total with Jemimah Rodrigues being the top-scorer (20).
