In a major development, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 has been shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) amid political unrest in Bangladesh. There were talks of the tournament being moved out of the Asian nation after protests by students led to the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier this month. The International Cricket Council (ICC), in a statement, confirmed that Bangladesh have retained the hosting rights, but the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 will now be held in the UAE across two venues--Dubai and Sharjah.
