The Sri Lankan captain tried to be cheeky and play the scoop shot during the death overs but missed the ball completely. That wicket broke the partnership that Dasun Shanaka had stitched with Sadeera Samarawickrama.
Bangladesh fast bowler Hasan Mahmud got the better of Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka during their Super Four match in Asia Cup 2023 on Saturday, September 9. The Sri Lankan skipper, who is known for his big-hitting prowess in the death overs, attempted to play a scoop shot but ended up missing the ball which then went on to crash into the stumps. This was Mahmud's third wicket of the match. This dismissal also brought an end to a 60-run partnership off 57 balls between Shanaka and Sadeera Samarawickrama.
