Former Sri Lankan U19 cricketer Dhammika Niroshan was shot dead in front of his residence in the area of Kandewatte in Ambalangoda. Niroshan who was known by the nickname of 'Jonty' led the Sri Lankan team in the 2002 U19 World Cup. As per the police media spokesperson, Niroshan was attacked by an unknown assailant. At the time of the attack, Niroshan's children were present in his house and he was murdered in front of his children.
