The Indian captain's 'forgetful' nature is known to fans pretty well and they were able to spot it when he explained his act of eating the soil from Kensington Oval pitch after India won the T20 World Cup 2024. India beat South Africa by seven runs to win a second T20 World Cup title.

Rohit Sharma caught the attention of many when he was spotted eating a bit of soil from the pitch at Kensington Oval in Barbados after Team India's T20 World Cup 2024 win on June 29. The Indian cricket team arrived in the country on July 4 and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and Rohit was seen explaining his soil-eating act to him. Rohit, while talking about the incident, said, "Woh pitch mere liye bohot ye tha, jo bhi humne kiya, uss pitch pe kiya. Uss moment pe woh hogaya merese" (That pitch was special to me. Whatever we achieved we did it on that pitch. At that moment, it just happened). Fans, however, spotted a funny side to it with Rohit saying 'ye, woh' (this, that) in his explanation and recalled the 'Hitman' using these words in the past as well. Rohit Sharma Shares Pics From Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 Victory Parade in Mumbai, Says 'This is For You'.
