A controversial situation unfolded during the South Africa vs Bangladesh match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh. South Africa scored 113 in their innings and Bangladesh set up a steady partnership through Mahmudullah Riyadh and Towhid Hridoy. It is when the umpire adjudged Mahmudullah LBW to a ball that seemed clearly going down the leg. The ball went to the boundary after hitting his pads but Bangladesh didn't get the runs as Mahmudullah was adjudged LBW. The decision was reversed by DRS but Bangladesh eventually lost the game by four runs. Fans were not happy with the dead ball rule upon given LBW and shared their thoughts on social media. South Africa Beat Bangladesh by Four Runs, Qualify for Super Eight in ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

ICC Seriously Need to Change Some Rules
Mahmudullah given LBW… ball crosses the boundary line. Mahmudullah reviews it, decision gets overturned. The boundary doesn’t count- it’s a dead ball.
How can a leg bye going for a boundary get wasted because of the umpire’s fault? ICC seriously needs to change some rules.
