A fan's prediction came true when Usama Mir dropped a simple catch of David Warner during the Australia vs Pakistan ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match on October 20. Mir had a forgettable debut in the CWC 2023 when he dropped a sitter which if taken, would have helped Pakistan see the back of Warner. The left-hander attempted a big shot off Shaheen Shah Afridi's bowling and the ball spooned high up. Mir, who was standing at mid-on, gathered underneath the ball but failed to grab onto it with the chance going down. Warner went on to score a century.
