Sri Lankan batsman Dimuth Karunaratne was dismissed for 46 runs due to a huge mixup between the pitch with his partner Dinesh Chandimal during the SL vs NZ 2nd Test 2024 Day 1. On the first ball of the 40th over, Mitchell Santner bowled a fullish-length delivery to Karunaratne which was played by the batter towards the leg side. The ball was stopped by Glenn Phillips with a dive at midwicket. Karunaratne called for a single which was denied by Chandimal. However, Karunaratne didn't hear his call and ran all the way towards the striker's end. In the end, Karunaratne had to walk back as he wasn't able to make his way back to the crease in time. The Sri Lankan opener was livid at his partner and wasn't happy. Dinesh Chandimal Scores His 16th Test Century, Achieves Feat During SL vs NZ 2nd Test 2024.
