A bizarre incident happened during the Somerset vs Kent County Championship 2023 division one game when a batsman survived despite his bat hitting the stumps dislodging the bails. Lewis Goldsworthy was the batter on strike when Jaskaran Singh's ball broke his bat and a piece of it landed on the stumps dislodging the bails. Only moments later, Jaskaran found out that the ball was adjudged no ball by the umpire due to overstepping.
