Sri Lanka equalises the series 1-1 against India after the 2nd T20I in the three-match series as they beat India by 16 runs at Pune. After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Hardik Pandya challenged the record of the MCA Stadium to favour teams batting first. Arshdeep Singh's bad day in the field meant Sri Lanka were off to a great start with Kushal Mendis taking charge (31-ball 51). Umran Malik and Yuzvendra Chahal pulled back things but a cameo by Charith Asalanka (19-ball 37) and later a power packed finish from Dasun Shanaka (31-ball 52) took them to a big total of 206. India crumbled own to 57/5 in no time as they started the chase. From a position of difficulty, Suryakumar Yadav (36-ball 51) and Axar Patel (31-ball 65) stitched a brilliant partnership to bring India back to the game. But even after a quick cameo from Shivam Mavi (16-ball 27), India fell just short.
