The southpaw was way out of the crease at the non-striker's end and could not make it back in time with the ball hitting the stumps after brushing Nqabayomzi Peter's fingers. Earlier, India were put to bat first by South Africa.
Axar Patel's innings came to an unfortunate end during the IND vs SA 2nd T20I 2024 on Sunday, November 10. This happened on the fifth ball of the 12th over bowled by Nqabayomzi Peter when Hardik Pandya drilled a straight drive. The ball was too straight for his liking as Nqabayomzi Peter got down and managed to touch the ball with his finger before it went on to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end. Axar Patel, who was batting well for his 27 runs off 21 deliveries, was way out of the crease at the non-striker's end and had to walk back to the dressing room.
