Anshuman Gaekwad Dies: Former Indian Cricketer and Head Coach Passes Away at Age 71 After Long Battle With Cancer

The legend of Indian cricketer was suffering from cancer and lost his battle to the deadly disease. Besides playing 40 Tests, Anshuman Gaekwad also featured in 205 First Class matches.

Former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad has passed away at age 71 after a prolonged struggle against cancer.  The 71-year-old represented the Indian cricket team in 40 Test matches and 15 ODIs, where he had scored 1985 and 269 runs, respectively. Gaekwad had also served as head coach of the national side and also a selector. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier released Rs 1 crore as financial aid for Gaekwad's cancer treatment.
