Adil Rashid Becomes First England Spinner To Take 200 ODI Wickets, Achieves Feat by Dismissing Glenn Maxwell During AUS vs ENG 2nd ODI 2024

The 36-year-old is one of the most crucial members of the England national cricket team and proved his worth yet again. The Australia national cricket team had earlier won the first ODI to take a 1-0 series lead.

Adil Rashid scripted history, becoming the first-ever England spinner to complete 200 ODI wickets. The leg-spinner achieved this feat by dismissing the dangerous Glenn Maxwell in the AUS vs ENG 2nd ODI 2024 on September 21. The delivery was a fuller one and Maxwell slogged it hard, only to find the fielder in the deep. The only other England national cricket team players with 200 or more ODI wickets are James Anderson (269 wickets) and Darren Gough (234 wickets). Rashid also became the third fastest spinner to get to the mark, as he achieved this fear off 131 innings, after Saqlain Mushtaq (101 innings) and the late Shane Warne (124 innings). ENG vs AUS 2024: Travis Head's Career-Best 154* Takes Australia to Comfortable Seven-Wicket Win Over England in 1st ODI
