The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has accepted Vinesh Phogat's appeal after she approached the institution for being disqualified from the women's wrestling 50kg final at the Paris Olympics 2024. Phogat had scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to enter the final of a wrestling event at the Olympics but was found to be overweight by just 100 grams on the day of the summit clash. The heartbroken wrestler had subsequently announced her retirement and approached the CAS, asking for the silver medal at least, which she had assured. The hearing at the CAS would begin around 12:30 PM IST (Indian Standard Time) on August 9. Vinesh Phogat Announces Retirement From Wrestling After Paris Olympics 2024 Disqualification.
