The duo had assured the USA of their first-ever badminton medal in the Olympic and Paralympic Games combined after making it to the final of the Mixed Doubles SH6 event but they lost the final to the Chinese duo of Lin Naili and Li Fengmei. The bronze medal was won by Indonesia's Subhan and Marlina Rina, who beat the Indian pair of Nithya Sre Sivan and Sivarajan Solaimalai to secure a podium finish.
