PV Sindhu, Indian flagbearer at Commonwealth Games 2022,  got off to a great start to the campaign after a dominating win against Mahoor Shahzad in the first round of Women's Singles at badminton team event on July 29. India took a 3-0 lead over their archrivals Pakistan in the team event category. The Singapore Open champion beat her opponent 21-7, 21-6 in the qualifying round.
