Avani Lekhara Finishes Fifth in Women’s 50 M Rifle 3 Positions SH1 Event at Paris Paralympics 2024
The 22-year-old para-shooter put up an good show but it was not enough to secure a podium finish. Earlier in Paris Paralympics 2024, she had become the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic Games gold medals when she won the top prize in Women's 10m Air Rifle SH1 event.
Avani Lekhara finished fifth in the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event at Paris Paralympics 2024 on September 3. The young para-shooter put up an impressive show but fell short of a podium finish with a score of 420.6 points. Lekhara, who had won the bronze medal at this event at the Tokyo Paralympics, had earlier won a gold medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. She had earlier finished seventh in the Women’s 50 M Rifle 3 Positions SH1 qualification round while compatriot Mona Agarwal was eliminated. With this, her Paris Paralympics 2024 campaign, which has been a memorable one, comes to an end.
