Afa Anoa'i Dies: Roman Reigns' Uncle and Hall of Famer WWE Wrestler Passes Away at 81
The wrestling world mourns the loss of Afa Anoa’i as the WWE Hall of Famer and one-half of the legendary tag team The Wild Samoans passes away at the age of 81. He was current superstar Roman Reigns’ uncle.
Known for his Samoan roots and playing style, Afa Anoa’i was one of the most followed wrestlers of his time. Born Afa Amituana’i “Arthur” Anoa’i on November 21, 1942, his run in professional wrestling saw Afa win tag team gold alongside his brother, the late Sika Anoa’i. The pair were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012. According to the Wrestling Observer, Afa had been recently admitted into hospice care and experienced two heart attacks while battling pneumonia in January. Afa Anoa’i is the uncle of current megastar Roman Reigns. The wrestling world mourns the loss of Afa Anoa’i.
