Lucile Randon, who became a nun in 1944, and knowns as the World's Oldest Living Known Person, died at her nursing home in Toulon at the age of 118 while sleeping. Known as Sister Andre, she converted to Catholicism when she was 19 years old and became a nun eight years later.

The World's Oldest Known Person, Lucile Randon, known as Sister Andre, died at the age of 118 at the nursing home where she lived on Thursday. The Fench nun was born in southern France on February 11 1904 and lived through the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918 and two World Wars. Lucile became the world’s eldest following the death of Kane Tanaka, a Japanese woman previously certified as the world’s oldest person, who died at the age of 119 on April 19.
