Scary Video: Japan’s Sakurajima Volcano Erupts Call On Residents to Be on High Alert, Prompts Evacuations; Watch Clip
The Meteorological Agency in Japan maintained its highest alert level after an explosive eruption at Sakurajima in Kagoshima Prefecture was seen, although there were no reports of injuries.
Japan's Sakurajima volcano, located on the island of Kyushu, erupted on Sunday, spewed black ashes and rocks and sent black smoke billowing high into the air. The dangerous volcanic activity prompted people to evacuate the region while warning that pyroclastic flows could occur within a 2 km radius of two craters.
