The California wildfire caused many families living in and around the area to evacuate and leave their homes. Residents from a remote area above Cohasset, near Campbellville, were also evacuating the area. Unfortunately, two adult Rottweilers and their puppies were trapped in an abandoned truck that the owners had left behind when it became disabled. Though officials were given the truck's location, no one could reach it immediately due to the fire. However, Trevor Skaggs, a member of Butte County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue, flew to the area in a BCSO helicopter. He found a safe landing zone about 1.5 miles from the truck. Trevor found the puppies and their mother alive, but unfortunately, the father did not survive. The surviving dogs were given water and snacks and then taken to the helicopter. They were flown to Chico Airport, and from there they were taken to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group, where they are receiving care. Firenado in California: Timelapse Footage Shows Terrifying Fire Tornado As Park Fire Rages Amid California Wildfire (Watch Video).
