Omar Bin Omran went missing on his way to a vocational school in Djelfa. The incident occurred in 1997, when he was just 17 years old. Despite a search, his family believed he had died. The truth, however, was far more tragic. Omar was found 27 years later, just 200 metres from his family's home. He was held captive in a cellar under a pile of hay. He was discovered when his captor's brother revealed his location during a family dispute. On May 12, 2024, Omar was rescued. The viral footage of his rescue shows him looking confused. Authorities have arrested the captor. It has been reported that Omar couldn't call for help because of a spell his captor allegedly cast. Tragically, Omar's mother died in 2013, unaware of his true fate. Omar, now 45, is receiving psychological care to help him recover from the trauma.
