Two scientists, Katalin Karikó, a professor at Sagan's University in Hungary and an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania, and Drew Weissman, who performed his prizewinning research together with Karikó at the University of Pennsylvania recently won the Nobel Prize in Medicine 2023 for discoveries that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. A video doing the internet rounds shows Drew Weissman calling his parents to break the news of his big win. The video displays the heartwarming reaction of the proud parents to their son's Nobel Prize win.
