Newquay Junior Academy, a primary school in Cornwall, is considering a ban on the skirt. The school is imposing the ban after some students reportedly wore it too short. The skirt lengths were deemed ‘too short’ and not in line with the school uniform’s policy. The school is now considering shifting to tailored trousers or shorts for all students. The school authorities even wrote a letter to the parents, asking for their advice on the matter. According to the proposed change, the skirt will no longer be a part of the school’s uniform policy. All students will either wear tailored trousers or shorts. The shift from skirts to trousers or shorts will most likely take place in September 2024. Skirts Banned in 40 Secondary Schools in England to Support Gender Neutrality.
