Moonfish on Beach! Rare 100-Pound Colourful Opah Fish Washes Up on Oregon Coast (View Photos)

Opahs can grow to over 6 feet and weigh over 600 pounds. They inhabit pelagic (meaning they live in the open ocean), tropical and temperate waters where they feed on krill and squid.

A colourful, giant weighing about 100 pounds, Opah fish also commonly known as moonfish or redfin ocean pan washed up on the coast of Oregon's Sunset Beach. Now, as per Seaside Aquarium’s Facebook post, the 3.5 feet long opah fish is “rare to the Oregon coast”.
