A 2,749-pound pumpkin recently smashed the world's largest pumpkin record. The fruit was grown by reigning North American champ Travis Gienger. The massive pumpkin wowed spectators at the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay, California. Once confirmed, Gienger's 1.37-ton gourd, which also earned him $30,000 in prize money, will replace the current Guinness World Record holder at 2,702 pounds.
