Last week, a group of men in Florida rescued a large beached shark by pulling it back into coastal waters in a risky manoeuvre that might have gone wrong in a matter of seconds. The video-recorded gesture of compassion occurred Thursday in Pensacola, on the Sunshine State's Gulf Coast. The video begins with a giant mako shark thrashing in shallow water along the beach with numerous people standing behind it. The shark looks to be at least 12 feet long and has jagged, razor-sharp teeth on its side. In the Coral Sea, a school of 12-inch sharks was able to wreck an inflatable 29-foot catamaran. Beached Basking Shark in North Yorkshire Put Down After Failed Efforts to Rescue (See Pictures).
