A farmer in Maharashtra, who travelled nearly 70 kilometers to sell his onions, received only Rs. 2 in exchange for his 512 Kg of onion. Yes, you read that right. Rajendra Tukaram Chavan from Solapur approached the Agricultural Produce & Livestock Market Committee (APMC) centre where he was given a meager amount of Rs. 1 per kilo of onion. Reportedly, the APMC trader further deducted Rs. 509.50 as transportation charges, head-loading, and weighing fees.
