In a video that has gone viral, an Uber driver in Bengaluru is seen refusing to turn on the AC, sparking a heated argument with a passenger. The incident shared on X by Dr Atharv Dawar shows the driver getting agitated and demanding Dr Dawar speak in Kannada. Explaining the incident, Dr Dawar said that the driver refused to turn on the AC, stating technical issues. Dr Dawar further explained that the driver initially communicated in Hindi. However, as their argument ensued, the latter demanded he converse exclusively in Kannada and not in any other language, stating they were in Karnataka. The incident, where the driver's demeanour escalated upon the AC request, has prompted discussions regarding language barriers as a potential tactic in exploiting passengers in Bengaluru. But d moment I asked him to Turn on the AC he got charged up. Listen to him responding in Hindi AC nahi hai. It’s not abt language here it’s about arrogant n irresponsible person using Kannada language as smokescreen to continue scamming gullible people who travel to BLR for work
