In an incredible display of endurance and courage, 16-year-old Kaamya Karthikeyan from Navy Children School, Mumbai, has made history. She is now the youngest Indian girl to scale Mount Everest and the second youngest girl in the world to reach the summit from the Nepal side. Kaamya, with her father, Commander S. Karthikeyan of the Indian Navy, reached the summit on May 20, 2024. They started their journey from Nepal's Kathmandu on April 6, embarking on a seven-week expedition to conquer Mount Everest. Her remarkable achievements have earned her the highest civilian award for individuals under 18 in India. The Indian Navy has congratulated Kaamya, praising her bravery and determination.
