Humans of Bombay (HOB), an Indian storytelling company, released a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter. They addressed it to Brandon Stanton, a well-known photographer and creator of Humans of New York (HONY), who expressed his displeasure with HOB for suing another storytelling company, People of India, in an alleged copyright infringement case. Brandon Stanton, in his tweet, wrote Humans of Bombay should not be suing others for something he had previously forgiven them for. To this, HOB tweeted a statement calling Brandon’s tweet a “cryptic assault” on their efforts to protect their “intellectual property.” The statement did not go down too well with netizens. They roasted HOB for their audacious tweet to the original creator and poked fun at the use of the words “intellectual property,” “honestly”, and “ethically” in the statement. People are just not buying HOB’s stand!

Recently, the Delhi High Court issued a summon to the People of India - based on a copyright infringement suit filed by Humans of Bombay. However, the Humans of Bombay page, founded by Karishma Mehta, is inspired in its concept and theme by Brandon's brainchild - HONY.
