Harry Potter fans were left disappointed after the annual Hogwarts announcement made at the King’s Cross station was cancelled this year. Every year, the iconic King’s Cross Station in London would make the announcement of the Hogwarts Express departing from the fictional platform 9 & ¾ at 11 am. This was done to mark the back to Hogwarts tradition, which in JK Rowling’s books celebrates the start of the new academic year in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Previously, the departure would also be displayed on the King’s Cross station’s departure board. However, this year, it was informed that the announcement would not be happening. But Harry Potter fans who dressed as characters from the novels still showed up hoping that the iconic announcement would be made. In a now viral video, fans who gathered at the station can be heard booing when the announcement was not made after the countdown. International Harry Potter Day 2024: Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station, and Other 'Magical' Places That Every Harry Potter Fan Must Visit!
