Scientists in Bangladesh documented an extremely rare instance of a huge Burmese python swallowing an even bigger reticulated python. Alive!! The shocking incident involving the two large snakes took place at the Akiz Wildlife Farm in Bangladesh. Reportedly, the 10-foot-long python was seen coiling tightly around the reticulated python which gave in and loosened its grip. The Burmese python then slowly began to devour the reticulated python from its tail. It took the Burmese python almost 2 hours to completely swallow the reticulated python. Scientists are finding this behaviour extremely shocking, as food was made available for both snakes. While this behaviour is extremely unusual and challenges the way snake behaviours and interactions are studied and understood, according to scientists, this act of cannibalism probably occurred due to a territorial dispute.
